Things I’m crazy about… my dear husband, Disney World, knitting/crocheting/cross-stitching, cooking/baking, and reading.
Things I’m not so ga-ga about… taxes, laziness, cold windy weather.
WIPs/UFOs
Orange ribbed sweater knitted in the round (self) – sleeves knitted (I think they may need a few rows added), body knitted, just need to steek and finish it up; yarn = plain ole red heart acrylic in pumpkin; no set pattern, just using EZ as a guideline; initiated project 11/2005
Natural & Autumnal Colors sweater knitted in the round (DH) – sleeves knitted (but they’re different sizes!), body knitted, need to figure out what’s going on and redo at least one sleeve
; yarn = Lion Brand Sportweight Wool Ease in natural and in a variegated colorway (I don’t believe that either is still available); using EZ norwegian 2-color patter; initiated project ??/2006??
Seafood Boil cross-stitch – nearly finished with stitching, purchased pattern 10/2000 at Quarter Stitch in New Orleans; have no idea when I started it :O
Arctic Santa stocking – this has been a WIP for over 10 years, got a little crazy with this project and decided to do it on navy blue aida and add mother of pearl to all of the white, what in the world was I thinking; project initiated 1992??
Fractal Vol.2 4th image on far right side – small count black aida, going to be lovely, initiated project 03/2008
Under the Oaks (Barbara & Cheryl design) – small count cream aida, I’ve finished two of their designs & have big hopes to complete about another ten
they’re already in my stash, initiated project (who knows!?)
Flower Power – linen? will have to double check progress at a later date
Rocky Mountain Christmas (Marty Bell) – working in cross-stitch on needlepoint canvas, all done except for backstitching
Purple Passion (Marc Saastad at Silver Lining) – actual stitching is finished, about 1/2 way done with backstitching
RECENTLY COMPLETED (in the last 6 months or s0)
3 circular baby shawls from EZ’s books (2 pink & 1 blue = gifts)
cable tunic sweater from Lion Brand Knit Along, cherry red
3 pairs of socks (nothing amazing)
purple headband to match my new purple parka
Surprise Baby Sweater (done in leftover bits)
Lace Shawl – (source: Knitted Lace of Estonia: Techniques, Patterns, and Traditions by Nancy Bush) … more details later
Too Many Grannies – started as a project to use up leftover “candy colored” yarn from various gift projects and sweaters, I now have 115 granny squares of various designs & I’m sewing them together into a weird hybrid shawl that I can keep at my desk to keep my shoulders warm; this poor thing is either so cool and beautiful that I can’t give it away or it’s so ugly that I wouldn’t dare give it away; guess I’m stuck with it; project initiated 03/2008 and finished 04/2009
